When Nico and Christian of Kollektiv Turmstrasse start working the crowd, it’s like somebody dumping a bucket of energy on the dance floor. For more then ten years now, these two have spread their good vibes from Reykjavik to Moscow and further to Tokyo with no plans of slowing down. Some call the duo Berlin‘s new wonder-boys, but actually they come from a small town on the Baltic Sea, and have been residing in Hamburg for some time now.

Kollektiv Turmstrasse draws a lot of influence from the people around them, so living in Hamburg has greatly influenced their music. However, these guys can‘t be easily classified: Kollektiv Turmstrasse makes music for the moment and for eternity, for indoors and for open air, for the soul and for the dancefloor, for you and for me. Along with releases on Connaisseur, Diynamic, Cocoon and Ostwind, Kollektiv Turmstrasse
has also been working on their very own label Musik Gewinnt Freunde, which they started in 2006.

With their big tunes „Tristesse“ and „Grillen im Park“, the guys had already played themselves into the hearts of their permanently growing fanbase. However, their big breakthrough came in 2009, with the „Kollektiv Turmstrasse Let Freedom Ring Rmx“ for Federleicht‘s „On The Streets“.

In November 2010, the duo presented their long-awaited first longplayer „Rebellion der Träumer“ (Rebellion Of The Dreamers), which came out on Connaisseur Recordings. On this album they reflect their progress of the last years and another great site of what they are doing. A lot of love, time and passion left their marks on that album for it to reach your heart and head and to take you on a musical journey.

Furthermore, Kollektiv Turmstrasse released remixes of „Rebellion der Träumer“ by Jimpster and Robag Wruhme on Connaisseur Recordings in June 2011.

no name is proud to welcome brethren Throne of Blood to The Electric Pickle fam for the launch of its quarterly residency. Setting thing off this edition are Brooklyn based Populette!

Maxime Pasquier and Andrew Potter first met when they DJed together at a loft party in Brooklyn, NY. Consequently they hit it off, going on to share apartments as well as studio equipment. While Maxime began making a name for himself through his remixes for people like Soulwax, Tiefschwarz and Who Made Who as Max Pask, Andrew helped define the visual identity of the NY based Throne of Blood record label (a task he still oversees to this day).

Working together as Populette they’ve so far released three 12”s through ToB along with countless remixes including recently Murphy Jax, The Rapture, & Jessica 6. No stopping on the horizon for these boys.

Throne of Blood Records started in Dec 2006 as a joint venture between The Rapture and DJ James Friedman. Initially created as a venue for releasing remix singles off The Raptures 2006 album Pieces of the People We Love.

In the months that followed standout releases from the label included remixes by massive artist like SMD, Claude Von Stroke, Sebastian and Prince Language. Following the initial blast of output the label fell silent for a moment as distribution issues arose.

In the summer of 2008 the label came roaring back to life with a newly minted global distribution deal through Kompact. By fall 08 Throne of Blood was preparing to release their latest work with Dances with White Girls epic New Crack Swing EP. New Crack Swing has gone on to make all sorts of best of lists and is currently in heavy rotation on dance floors worldwide.

In 2009 Throne of Blood continues to push forward with the release of universally acclaimed Zombi and their Sapphire/ Long Mirrored Corridor 12″
This long awaited release coupled with a sensational remix by NYC disco ensemble Escort is bound to impress.

This year Throne of Blood will continue to push ahead with more releases in the pipeline and a host of live events to follow. Always searching for the new and next, expect to be surprised in the coming months.

Germany’s very own taste-maker, trend-setter, mover-shaker-extraordinaire Steve Bug is a multi-faceted artist who refuses to back down from the limelight. A dedicated, energetic and constantly surprising talent, Steve is nothing less than an electronic music ambassador, a much-loved spokesman to the people, and for good reason.

‘Growing Up’ in Germany’s techno and acid-house heyday, Steve Bug’s love for a perfect groove is as apparent now as it was back then. From the very early days DJjing in Bremen and Hamburg it was clear there was a strong talent waiting to be nurtured.. Besides this his DJ skills and keen, innovative, ear led him not down the typical path of the early nineties trance and harder dance scene, but towards a fresher, hybrid sound merging stripped deep house, tweaked out acid and more minimal forms of techno.

In 1999 Steve broke yet more boundaries with the launch of Poker Flat records, and his classic ‘Loverboy’. Introducing a darker, yet totally funky and grooving sound, this minimal club hit opened Steve’s eyes to new territories and new possibilities. Needless to say the Poker Flat imprint still runs strong today, over a decade since its inception, and Steve now stands as a figure head for the hugely poular ‘minimal-tech-house’ sound that the label pioneered. His first album for Poker Flat, entitled ‘The Other Day’ stands as a testament to this futuristic, melting pot of sounds and ideas, where musical diversity and experimentation meet soothing night-time dubs and dancefloor workouts!

As musical partners to the Poker Flat sound, his labels Dessous and later Audiomatique evolved – Dessous catering for more classic deep-house sounds fused with cutting edge production from top artists, while Audiomatique, standing for a very modern house and techno sound, allowed even crazier moments to be explored – and so all corners of his love for the 4/4 beat were expressed, presented in the upmost quality. Countless productions, remixes and one-off studio sessions with key producers ensued, all carrying the Bug’s name further afield, and higher up the musical ladder.

Won’t you dance with me? This is of course a rhetorical question. There are few DJs that would rather get a yes. Since the Berliner-by-choice Prosumer lasciviously whispered this line on his second record and first genuine hit (The Craze for the revered Playhouse label), he grew to be one of the most impressive producers and DJs of today. His artist name stems from Alvin Toffler’s significant science-fiction book The Third Wave, which also inspired Juan Atkins to call his music “techno” and fuses “producer“ and “consumer” into one.

In reality, that’s what Prosumer does. He produces and consumes house music. Being the essence of his creative work, he deals with it in a way that is traditional, honest, up-front and most of all very personal. There are no limitations; stereotypes lose their impact and the supposedly very rigid formulary of house music, suddenly bears new entries. Of course, the base is rock-solid: Detroit, Chicago and New York are the twin cities that shaped his sound since he started playing records in the late nineties. But the Panorama Bar resident always has been one to accept ricochets from all kinds of camps, times and systems. The only rule: emotionality trumps effectiveness.

This is what makes his DJ-sets such rewarding experiences. Despite drawing from fifteen years of record shopping at Hard Wax, Prosumer is not an oblivious missionary of the absolute truth. He is an adoring DJ-at-heart who stands up for his own verity. All of that is stunningly bound in his first official mix “Panorama Bar 03” as well as continued and refined in his studio work. Whether with Murat Tepeli (deeply eternalized on their long player Serenity) orTama Sumo for Ostgut Ton, with his own releases, while remixing other artists or in front of the microphone – this Prosumer has found his own voice already.
