Molly [Rex Club/ Paris]

Molly [Rex Club/ Paris]

As resident at Paris’ legendary Rex Club, MOLLY has established herself as one of the city’s brightest talents, combining passion, integrity and talent to launch a successful DJ career and producing several key releases for labels such as Rekids, All Inn, AKU and Karlovak. Through hard work and dedication to her craft Molly has built up a sterling reputation, traveling across Europe to play at some of the continent’s most influential clubs, as well as picking up bookings further afield in South & North America, Asia and Australia. A polished DJ, accomplished producer, A&R and now a label owner, too, Molly is a professional who embodies the true spirit of house and techno.
Molly’s long-running love affair with house and techno began when she heard club music during a trip to London. When she returned to France, Molly began to delve deeper into electronic music. After finishing her Masters in Communication, she picked up a permanent role at Rex Club, where she became head of the venue’s communications and PR, she has now left the post but continues to A&R for the recently launched Rex Club Music label.
Molly’s growth as a DJ has been steady and natural. Her life can often be like an endless quest to find rare records, digging for precious material whenever she has the opportunity. This inquisitive side to her nature comes through in her diverse sets, made up of special treats resulting from her penchant for digging. Molly’s exquisite taste is ever present in her monthly playlist on 22tracks whilst her ability to weave together tracks from sultry house to tougher techno has landed her gigs at clubs such as Panorama Bar(Berlin), Concrete (Paris), Space (Ibiza), Amnesia (Ibiza), Circoloco (Ibiza) and Robert Johnson (Frankfurt). Not to mention appearances as far afield as Japan, Canada, USA, Australia , Russia and Chile. Festival performances are also becoming a regular fixture in her tour diary with bookings at Weather Festival in her native France, Amsterdam Dance Event and Awakenings (Holland), Piknic Electronik (Canada), Brunch Elektronic (Lisbon & Paris), Into The Factory (Sweden) Amore Festival (Rome) and many more. Demonstrating her ability to command the big stage as well as more intimate venues, as she did during her appearance on Boiler Room Paris.
Molly has also channelled her love for music into producing several impressive releases, transferring her DJ skills to music production effortlessly. Releases with Radio Slave’s Rekids label, Karlovak, All Inn and more have all been well received by her peers and fans alike showcasing her studio skills. Her debut solo EP landed on French label AKU, a sub label of the infamous Yoyaku outlet. ‘SB Relief’ is a sublime three-track release, which encapsulates Molly’s deft touch. Looking forward, Molly will be keeping one foot in the studio and one in the clubs, as she maintains the different strands of her growing career.
Taking things to the next level, Molly has also initiated the launch of her own record label RDV (Recit de Voyage). The platform is intended to allow Molly to express her vision and cement her identity as a curator on all levels. Utilising her penchant for digging and a high level of quality control, RDV represents a new chapter in Molly’s career and one which she has dreamed of for quite some time.

The Hot Chip and Greco-Roman co-founder mixes it up at the Pickle.
Joe Goddard has been a somewhat inescapable figure of the past few years. As vocalist, percussionist and synth wizard in Hot Chip, he’s seduced listeners from both rock and dance spheres over the course of three albums, melding live instrumentation and electronics with an irresistibly twee aesthetic. The group have always been interested in the dance floor, as proven by their remarkably diverse additions to the Bugged Out! and DJ Kicks catalogue, mountain of remixes and hectic DJing schedule, with Goddard spinning records either solo or alongside his Hot Chip companions.

Such is his love for underground dance music, in fact, that Goddard decided to go it alone and produce a body of work that distils what he’s loved about dancing to 2-step, Dutch electro, classic Warp material, Chicago house, and many more styles on his debut solo release, Harvest Festival. His RA podcast is similarly angled and covers many of Goddard’s musical loves, traversing from hip-hop to funk via a healthy dose of house and current bass music sounds.

The Electric Pickle presents Cajmere

The Electric Pickle presents Cajmere aka Green Velvet

Supported by
William Renuart

Cajmere studied chemical engineering at the University of Illinois, where he exposed himself to the energetic culture and lifestyle of house. In 1991, midway though graduate school, Cajmere returned to Chicago to pursue his dream of producing house music.

In 1992, after surviving on cheese sandwiches and maximizing credit limits, Cajmere finally made an imprint on the dance community with his infectious experiment, “Coffee Pot” (It’s Time for the Percolator) – Clubhouse Records. Then he moved on to more complex musical and lyrical arrangements with songs like Lidell Townsell’s “Get With U” (Mercury Records).

The Cajmere and Dajae collaboration resulted in a #2 Billboard Dance Chart and International dance hit – “Brighter Days”. It was at this point that Cajmere decided to start Cajual Records. Having his own label gave Cajmere the autonomy to attain his goal of developing a sound that was representative of Chicago – thus, putting Chicago back on the map.

In 1993 Cajmere created Relief Records. The label became an outlet for he and other producers’ more track-oriented work.

(Green Velvet)

The Relief label also gave birth to the experimental and eccentric, afro wig-wearing entity we know as Green Velvet – a Cajmere alter ego.

Green Velvet produced the first release on the Relief label, “Preacher Man.” He followed up the debut release with “Flash” and “The Stalker”, both of which brought about unexpected praise and worldwide recognition.

In 1997, Green Velvet’s attempt to combine 80s electronic funk with Chicago’s cult of a perfect track led to his creation, “Answering Machine” – with the more humorous but rather contagious hook – “I don’t need this shit!” For 1999 Green Velvet has crafted “Constant Chaos”, an electronic trip over a lyrical landscape or as Green Velvet muses in a recent Muzik interview, “I guess it’s sorta like folk music for the rave scene.”

*** Limited tickets will be available on the door from 11AM and throughout the day according to capacity ***Crosstown Rebels Present Get Lost Miami March 23, 2013 at The Electric PickleAre you ready to Get Lost?An offbeat Miami sidewalk during the early morning hours, far from the glamour of South Beach, the ominous repetitive rumble of bass reaches a line of revelers waiting under a flickering neon sign. A door opens, the partygoers, all shapes and sizes, creeds and colors, find themselves ushered in, only to Get Lost…Over the last eight years Damian Lazarus’ Crosstown Rebels’ Get Lost party at the Electric Pickle has become the cornerstone of Miami Music Week. A focal point for those looking to experience something different in the overcrowded party scene, a surefire destination at which to hear cutting edge music, and see some of dance musics most exciting names, take audiences on mind-bending musical journeys.2013 will set a new precedent, as Crosstown Rebels celebrate its tenth anniversary at Get Lost Miami. A combination of the label’s artists including Infinity Ink, Fur Coat, Subb-An and Francesca Lombardo will be joined by some extra special friends like Carl Craig, Eats Everything, Heidi, Tiga, Tini, Skream and Sneak, over the course of the 18 hour marathon. While the headlining talent at Get Lost might be unmatched, those who have attended previous Get Lost events know, it is often those guests who sets are unannounced that provide some of the most inspiring and memorable moments of Miami Music Week.

This year as ever, Get Lost will take over all areas of the Electric Pickle for an immersive musical experience. Starting EARLY Saturday morning in the dual interior rooms, the Rebels will subversively soundtrack your morning, before opening up the Pickle’s (extended) outdoor terrace at 11am for a full day of sundrenched musical madness.

Get Lost Miami will be a marquee stop on the colossal 10 years of Crosstown Rebel Rave 2013 tour, which sees the Rebels cross five continents and eighteen countries, led by label founder and flagship artist, Damian Lazarus. The past twelve months has seen Crosstown Rebels launch a mystical festival, Day Zero, and reconnect with classic artists from the label’s history such as Mathew Jonson, Jamie Jones, Tiga & Dinky as well as typically introducing a sea of new faces such as Francesca Lombardo, Amirali, Fur Coat and Aidan Lavelle.

The ten year celebration year looks to be one of the most exciting in the label’s history, with albums from key label artists and new talents, and Get Lost stages and stops at some of the world’s biggest and best festival and club events.

LIMITED tickets for Get Lost Miami will be sold at the door from 11am on the day of the event… ADVANCE tickets are strongly recommended.

The Electric Pickle Presents: Losoul (Playhouse/ Live at Robert Johnson)

Fri. Aug.3rd
The Electric Pickle Presents
Losoul (Playhouse/ Live at Robert Johnson/ DE)

Whether making music between all the zeros and ones, circuitry and cards, with analogue gear or digital possibilities becomes a valuable art or just a service, is defined through distinctive character.
Peter Kremeier alias Losoul is a member of a unique guild of producers that always has been blessed with its very own sound signature.
In the course of his musical socialisation, Losoul came across a kaleidoscope of different styles: Techno- and House blueprints, Funk and Soul of the seventies, prehistorical Hip Hop and of course a bit of Jazz for the mind. At first, he appeared under the guise Don Disco that he used in the early and blessed nineties as a part of the Superbleep-DJ-Team while exploring the tension between emotive sounds and automatic rhythms over and above at their club night at the – nomen est omen – Basement and other places in the Frankfurt-area back when things were fresh as morning dew.
This suited him as well as his later nom de la guerre Losoul. Established as a trademark for his port of registry Playhouse – Frankfurt’s then youthful, now legendary label for electronic music with class.
Fuelled with his unparalleled ability to abstract the basics of dance music, tracks out of his forge blaze as typical Losoul grooves. Already one of his first and most famous pieces “Open Door” impressively exercises his practice of marathon jams that never go stale. But Losoul can also adjust to different techniques. For instance, when he respelled the words electronic pop music by means of a new alphabet in conjunction with the singer Malte, delivered his multi-layered as well as fascinating albums: “Belong” and “Getting Even”.
Ever since and in the meantime, he played live (with or without Malte), carried his record bag through the clubs of this world (always on the knife’s edge between Techno and House or places like Panorama Bar and Robert-Johnson) and created remixes for the likes of Freaks, Blaze, Khan, Alter Ego, Jay Haze, International Pony, Lawrence or Ark and on labels as renowned as Classic, Kalk Pets, Moon Harbour, Circus Company, Logistic and Telegraph.
And most of all, the producer Losoul consistently pushes these majestically and stoical marching 12-inches as well as delicate album cuts which smuggle themselves equally into one’s musical memory.
Losoul, you know!
